- 15th of 17 children! (Father married twice; Franklin was the 8th of 10 from his father’s 2nd marriage)
- Franklin’s formal education ended when he was 10 (1716) years old.
- Franklin established a common-law marriage to Deborah Read in 1730.
- Franklin and Deborah had two children: Francis (1732-1736) and Sarah “Sally” (1743-1808)
- Franklin also had an illegitimate son, William., publically acknowledged in 1730 and raised in Franklin household.
